Days and Times    February Workshops    March Workshops

Classes are for all levels and include beginners and experienced knitters. Learn basic stitches, reading patterns,
understanding gauge, color changing, learning and understanding terms and abbreviations, American and Continental knitting methods, how to adjust a pattern and have it fit, help with finishing old projects and finishing in general. Please come to class prepared. If you have questions about what you will need, please contact us at the Knitting Basket at 804.282.2909.
Students completing a 6 weeks session will receive a 20% off coupon good for regularly priced yarn.

Workshops These sessions are designed to provide a creative and enjoyable atmosphere for your knitting. You walk away with all the knowledge to complete the project on your own. Usually workshop cost $25 plus materials unless otherwise indicated. Please come into or call the shop at 804.282.2909 for details on materials required prior to the begin date of the workhop.

Children's Knitting Class
Saturdays-- February 9th, 23rd and March 1st and 15th from 2:30 to 3:45pm:
The children's class is back on the schedule. Come and knit for your Webkinz. The class provides a wonderful opportunity for our youngest knitters to perfect their skills and at the same time meet other children interested in same hobby.


Two socks on ONE circular needle
Saturdays-- February 16th, 23rd, and March 1st and 8th from 9:30 to 11am:
The workshop addresses knitting a pair of socks at the same time on one circular needle. The technique is slightly counter intuitve, but rewarding. You will end up with a pair of the socks at the end of the class. NO going back to now knit the second sock and all that counting etc..


Seaming 101
Wednesday -- February 27th from 10am to 12Noon:
Knowing how to finish your handwork professionally just adds the final dot on the "i". Come and join us for this two hours workshop and learn all the tricks.


Basic Crochet
Thursdays-- March 6th though 27th from 6:30 to 8:30pm:
Here is the long awaited crochet class. Learn basic crochet stitches, such as the chain stitch, single and double crochet stitch etc.


Cabled Hat
Saturdays -- March 15h and 22nd from 9:30 to 11:30am:
This is a great project for the more advanced knitter who wants to work with involved cables. Learn to read charts, finishing the hat with a crochet edge. Pattern will be provided in class.


Mitered Mittens
Saturdays -- March 15h and 22nd from 2 to 4pm:
Learn the technique of mitering. The techniques is well within the reach of a beginning knitter. Pattern will be provided in class.


The next round of regular 6 weeks classes will start the week of Mid February. Please call for exact dates and times and to reserve your spot. Fall clases are forming now and we have a limit of 8 knitters per class.

KIDS - KNITTING CLASS -

Saturdays 2:30 - 3:45pm. Schedule tba. $50.00. Learn to knit flip flops and other items! Come to the Knitting Basket to choose your yarn, needles and pattern and be ready to start your project.

Fees

Adults $70.00 for 6 weeks (2 hours per class). 
Children $50.00 for 4 weeks (1 1/2 hours per class).
Full payment is due at the time of registration.

Cancellations
    Refunds -- In order to receive a refund, withdrawal from the class must be at least 5 working days prior to the start of the 1st class in the session.

      Weather -- Cancellation of class due to inclement weather will be made by the individual instructor.  Classes cancelled due to inclement weather will be rescheduled at the end of each session.

Supplies for Beginning Knitters
        Must be purchased at The Knitting Basket prior to the first class session.
